Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically interact with the materials, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as possible to aid their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts, I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. B-boy style by the mile!!!!

I have breakdancing since '98. I have competed and won many battles both alone and with my old breakdancing crew. I have taught an all ages class successfully for one year and a middle school class for another single year. I have done choreography and am very proficient in innovating and creating new moves. I can do: flips (front and back), power-moves i.e. windmills, flare, 1990's, 2000's, and more, and many different styles of footwork! I can also assist you with regular modern hip-hop moves as well.
My teaching style is definitely more of a facilitator/demonstrator style where I show and teach you the moves step by step then encourage you (the peer) to learn, search, and practice independently.

A Little Bit About Me...

I usually start off teaching the student basic utensil knowledge and slowly branch into oils from acrylic, first with no color so they will learn to see temperature. After we will learn the importance of white and how to not overuse such a strong hue. After this we will work from still-lives and also self-portraiture.
I have been painting for 6+ years and am very willing to share my knowledge of the tricky medium to anyone willing to learn it. Oils are my forte however I've worked in most other mediums a time or two. My current work is fully abstract but I have plenty of images of works that show my technical expertise.
