Experience Summary
I did a three-month internship the summer after my junior year of high school with CenterPage Inc., a graphic design company that sparked my interest in graphic design. I then started taking classes with a local graphic designer, of which I continued to take until I graduated high school.
The summer after my freshman year of college, I helped to develop/start a Graphic Design Program at my high school. I helped teach the first set of classes and was the person of contact for the Guidance Department for any student that wanted to pursue graphic design. Since the program fully launched, I have hosted multiple portfolio reviews for high school juniors and seniors pursing visual communication fields, speak annually at my school's career day, and do a presentation about graphic design to all art classes every spring.
The spring and summer terms of my sophomore year, I studied architecture and photography in Prague, Czech Republic.
The spring and summer terms of my junior year, I worked for the Society of Hospital Medicine as a Graphic Design and Marketing Assistant. I worked along-side the Head Graphic Designer and my mentor was the Senior Manager of Marketing. I assisted in over 300 projects in the six months in which I worked full-time, including projects such as:
Pitched a marketing campaign to the Board where my design was chosen to market a
national meeting. Worked with the CEO from the initial development of the project to
creation of all deliverables, such as launching the micro site, generating promotional
e-mails, designing web ads ranging from Roadblocks (500x450px) to Web Buttons
(120x60px), flyers, and registration materials.
• Assisted with the production of over 250 deliverables for SHM’s Annual Meeting.
Created large format products such as bridge banners, window statics, pole banners,
escalator clings, and exhibit booth panels along with high volume pieces such as tote
bag inserts, reception invitations, hand sanitizer labels, registration postcards nd
faculty binders.
I still work part-time at SHM as a freelance graphic designer.
In January of 2012, I was hired to redesign a startup company, Async Interview. I am currently working on redesigning all aspects of the brand - working with the founder of the company to ensure clarity and consistency of their marketing plan throughout all pieces.
My Hobbies
I swam for my middle, high school, and Drexel's varsity swim team, as a captain of both my high school and collegiate team. I also enjoy doing triathlons, and coach the Drexel Club Triathlon Team, as well as select professional triathletes.
I enjoy baking (I love decorating cupcakes and cookies!) and have been known to spend a lot of time in Williams-Sonoma!
