Because of my B.A. in English, I consider myself to be quite experienced in composition. The only reason I would not call myself an expert is because it seems school systems frequently change the types of essays they require students to write, and it is difficult to keep up. For example, it is my underdanding that the "five paragraph essay" is no longer used to assess student writing at the high school level.
