Experience Summary
I have had the honor of working with many kids in regards to a variety of fields. My experiences taught me responsibility, patience, the importance of learning and education, and much more. The various teaching opportunities I have been fortunate to have have impacted my social and educational lives; I take what I learn from teaching and apply it to my own studies- having patience and upholding the responsibilities of being a student.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is a mixture of strict and lenient. I try to form a connection with students and apply that to my teaching method (i.e. incorporating a similar hobby in a question in order for the student to understand the material better). I expect my students to give me and the other students respect- never speaking while others are speaking, no disruptions, ect. This method of teaching has shown effective and a fun learning environment. I base my curriculum around the importance of reading. Reading is the easiest and most effective way of obtaining knowledge and using it in the world.
My Hobbies
I have a plethora of hobbies. I have a passion for reading, writing, dancing, hanging out with my friends and family, watching movies and television, and discussing all the aforementioned. My favorite thing to do, however, is learn. I have often said that if I could, for a career, I would love to be a professional student.
Other Comments
I believe that the student, the teacher, and the parent are a team. Each should know everything in regards to the curriculum, the student's strengths and weaknesses. Education is something I refuse to play with; it is an extremely sensitive and important subject that effects everyone. When teaching, I always refer to the parents as a back- up, like a sidekick in the classroom.
