About Me

Experience Summary

Hello! Thank you for your time. In the summer of 2002, I tutored children from ages 6-12 years at an educational camp. I usually tutor young adults, focusing on conversational English, as well as grammar and writing. In addition, I am an editor/consultant for many professionals in writing composition, speeches and presentations, and editing documents. Although my experience is mostly with older students, I absolutely love children and get along with students of all ages. I have a very creative approach to teaching English, coming up with fun and visual methods of understanding key concepts based on the needs of the student, as well as his/her own learning process. My strengths are proofreading and editing, as well as structuring writing to be the most effective in communication. I also earned a perfect score of 6 out of 6 in the writing section of the GRE for graduate school. I also excel in speech writing and presentation. I'd love to work with you! Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions!

Teaching Style

I like to start the initial session by evaluation my student's strengths and areas needing improvement. I like to offer editing assistance and answer questions in every session. I like to make the tutoring sessions to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. It is a learning environment, not a lecture classroom.

My Hobbies

I volunteer at local and national nonprofit organizations in my free time, offering public relations services and just simply promoting the cause. I also enjoy ceramics, sculpture (wood and metal). Making something from scratch and seeing the end result is worth every minute.

Grammar This is one of my top subjects! Proficiency: Experienced
I have tutored grammar and writing with several students, both young adults and business professionals. I supply both additional materials and homework, in addition to editing creative writing pieces and business documents. Upon the initial meeting, I will assess your areas that need improvement and start working there.
GRE
I received a perfect score of 6 in the writing section of the GRE. If you are applying to any type of communications or literary graduate school, I would be of great assistance to help you prepare.
Public Relations This is one of my top subjects! Proficiency: Experienced
I have several years of experience in public relations, both corporate and agencies. Currently I am the managing director at a communications firm. I have earned my master's degree in public relations at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
