I have worked as a tutor for 10 years in all subjects, especially focusing on ESL learners. Recently, I have worked in an ESL school (FLS International) with university age students seeking to matriculate into American Universities. Before that, I worked in South Korea teaching English. While employed at these schools, I also work part-time as a tutor- mostly for middle and high school age students. I am currently working towards my BA in Humanities at San Jose State University. After I complete my BA I will enroll in a program to get my teaching credential in language arts. I believe that each student should learn to be in charge of their own education. My goal is to help them achieve that goal. I am not quick to jump in with the answer but can wait patiently for them to work through the problem. Since I learned by a very different method than my teachers tried to teach, I look for a students learning style. If he is not getting the concept, I'll try another or even invent one on the spot.
