Experience Summary
I am currently working towards my BA in Humanities at San Jose State University. After I complete my BA I will enroll in a program to get my teaching credential in language arts. I have written countless paper during my college career and consider writing to be my strongest subject. I am also strong in English, History, the arts and literature. I have tutored children ages 10-18 for the past four years in English, writing essays and literature. I have helped younger children with reading and writing book reports. I have also helped teenagers write more complex essays for their high school English classes. I have also taught teenagers strategies to writing and organizing a good essay.
Teaching Style
I am very passionate about teaching. I want to do it for the rest of my life so it is something that I enjoy. I love working with children and teenagers. I want to be an inspiration to my students. I want to motivate them to love learning and to find subjects that interest them. I like to teach through discussion and interaction because I believe that the best way to learn something is to analyze it yourself. In this way children and teenagers can learn and can, possibly, find a deeper meaning in what they are doing and as a result enjoy it. I also try to motivate my students to take control of their own education, to think critically, and to feel better about themselves through learning.
