When I work with students individually, I do not use pre-planned lessons. I assess their needs and develop custom tutoring sessions for their maximum benefit. I like teaching math because math problems all have a specific technique or method. Very little memorization is required. All math problems of a certain topic are completed using the the same methodology. Getting students to realize that is the key. Students who struggle in math will look at two homework problems in a section of a textbook and see two completely different problems.
