In my first semester of graduate school, I was a teaching assistant in a 3000-level course with about 20 students. I found the class very exciting as the students where very diligent and always did their pre-lab before each class, making the class easier for them to understand. I have tutored privately at various times helping high school students prepare for SAT and GRE math sections, having scored very well in those exams myself. I am fluent in the English language and have great communication skills as is required for any student in graduate school. One of my favorite past-times is teaching and mentoring. I have helped my youger siblings and cousins broaden their skills in sciences and math. As a former probation officer in both the juvenile and adult population, I have worked on numerous community service projects and helped teach at risk youth life skills as well as assisting in acedemics. Additionally, I hold two degrees which has challanged me in the areas of reading and math. During this past year, I have tutored students from K-6 in the both reading and math. In addition, I have two boys of my own whom I continue to teach and monitor their progress. Teaching style depends on the student. Establishing rapport at the beginning of the sessions and taking the time to talk to each student one on one will set a good foundation for learning. I teach through discussion and have the student teach it back to me or another party to be sure they understand the problem. I am confident they will progress with this approach.

I have a Bachelors in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration. I am working to complete my law degree and have worked as a CFO and CAO in Fortune 1000 companies.
