In my ten years at Auburn Adventist Academy (AAA) teaching art, I have seen that for some students, academics, but in my art classes they not only found success but gained confidence and excelled. During the school year my students learn shading, perspective, contour, and scratch board drawing. I require the maintenance of a daily sketch journal to show increased progress during each semester. I am a very patient, hands-on style of tutor. I take the time and try to explain things to people who have a hard time understanding. I try to gage what the student is struggling with and also what they do understand, so I can quickly pinpoint their troubles and focus on the problem issue. Some kids need more explaining, others need a picture drawn out for them. I am good at finding what method people learn best with. I graduated from the University of Washington last year with a BA in Journalism. I've also received an AA Degree from Highline Community College.
