Experience Summary
I place a high value on practical education. I graduated high school at the top of my class and received my AA degree just a few of months later- all while working full-time. I then obtained my BA in Organizational Management and I am now in a local graduate degree program. Because of my heavy workload I was able to develop effective and efficient study methods. I have been tutoring, mentoring and coaching children, teens and adults for the past nine years with great success to them academically, socially and emotionally. I also have a great desire to teach adults and have tutored many in computer skills Specifically, I have tutored students in English (literature, grammar, writing, etc.), mathematics, science, and liberal arts.
Teaching Style
Education, youth and adult continuing education are great passions of mine. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn and has room for improvement. I don't believe that education has to be dull and I value creative approaches to learning, all the while keeping a keen eye on the task at hand. I throughly enjoy learning each student's individual personality and strive to find ways to make material approachable, relevant and practical. Sometimes the "trick" is just to relate to what they already know and love. Key educators made a profound impact on my life and it's my simple desire to continue to do the same for others.
