I hold an honor's degree in marine biology and a masters degree in marine renewable energy. I love meeting and interacting with new people, children and adults alike. I have extreme patience. I believe that it is imperative to make the student feel comfortable in the learning environment. I would never embarrass a student for asking a question. So many times in the past, I have witnessed teachers ridiculing students for asking a question because they genuinely did not understand the subject matter, which prevented the students from asking any more questions in class. It is also important to know why the student, or his or her parents, believes that he or she needs a tutor.

It has been written about for centuries where one teacher made all the difference in the decisions that a student made for the rest of his or her life. I understand the great responsibility in being a teacher, especially with young, impressionable minds. I believe in presenting clear, up-to-date and as scientifically factual as possible information. A sentence I remember reading in a book by Marty Roberts explains a large portion of my teaching style: Knowledge should be pooled into the brain by the student, not pushed into the brain by the teacher.
