I teach each person on an individual level. There are several reasons behind this. Some of them are: people have different strengths and weaknesses, people learn at quicker/slower rates than others, some individuals are more adept at one subject matter than another, and the motivation of the individual varies greatly from person to person. Since a student is a human being before he or she assumes the role of the learner, it is incumbent upon the teacher to respect the individual, and likewise earn his or her respect, first, well before considering the more technical pedagogical aspects. I love to work with and help children of all ages with their language skills and understanding. I like to teach through example and help children figure out their problems on their own, but with some guidance. I am a recent college graduate with a BA in English (emphasis in Creative Writing). I have been caring for children of all ages for the last 9 years, which includes tutoring and metoring.
