Experience Summary
I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. In all these fields I find similar necessary skills: patience, co-operation among staff and colleagues, knowledge of subject matter, communication with the community and parents and a well defined curriculum. Moreover, I am a published author and a former writer with St. Louis Globe Democrat - Suburban Journals. As a favor to my students, I often evaluate papers for submission. These students will always earn excellent grades.
Teaching Style
I am a listener first and foremost. I want to know what my students expect from me and in what areas s/he regard as most essential to her/his success. I believe all people can learn and understand. It is a pleasure to watch students grow in skill and comprehension and move toward confidence.
My Hobbies
Raising orchids and hot-house plants, sewing, reading, writing, painting (walls and framework), gardening, and cooking.

I am a grandmother, seven so far, and an experienced educator. I have taken classes in microsoft excell, office and photoshop although I am not proficient in this area. I enjoy learnig as much as I enjoy teaching.

| Reading comprehension cannot be separated from reading. The point of reading is to comprehend what is written. I teach people to read, ask appropriate questions about his/her reading and report on what the student believes s/he has read. |

| My first choice is to use one syllable words to teach spelling and build to two, then three and so forth. With multi-syllable words I teach where a word "breaks" because the tongue cannot articulate all the syllable at once say in a words such as proficient, or establishment. |
