This program worked with several schools in the Rochester, NY area to provide in school and after school tutoring and teaching assistance to children grades 6-12. I specialized at one school, Hope Hall in Gates, NY, where I worked with students who had a variety of learning challenges. A Little Bit About Me...

I understand that science, especially chemistry, is not intuitive to everyone. Quite often, chemistry can be related to real life phenomena or can be explained in ways that are more tangible to the young student. I strive to find those relations and teach science in that manner. Furthermore, my favorite teachers were those that made learning fun, not just repeatedly doing homework problem after homework problem. I believe that while there is some merit in repetition, a student will remember something if the learning process is presented using everyday examples.

It is often that I can help a student get over a small hurdle, but afterward the student is reluctant to take up more time to ask another question while others are having problems and waiting.
