I truly and honestly enjoy working with children of all ages to help them achieve their highest potential. When working with young children (grades k-6), I try and make learning as fun and relaxing as possible. Young children also need a lot of attention to ensure they remain focused on the task at hand. I feel that my style of teaching is student centered. I am a facilitator to the learning process. Any student who chooses to learn can and will, however some students need more motivation than others. I have a BA in Psychology, MS in Zoology and BS in Computer Science. I have lifetime Arizona Community College certification in psychology, biology, ecology and remedial math. My experience with special populations includes: three years full-time on the Navajo Reservation; three years part-time at the SALT Center at the University of Arizona working with learning disabled students; and a hands-on nature camp for deaf middle-schoolers. My favorite experience has been the opportunity to design the curriculum, code the programs, and teach the student counselors for the U of A's Computer Science week-long summer enrichment program for teens.

I'm a very enthusiastic teacher. I believe that a student can only learn what they're interested in learning. For this reason, I find that getting the student to be interested in the subject at hand is crucial. Lessons should be fun and engaging. There are different approaches and applications on any given subject and finding the right one for each student allows for personal tailoring of a lesson. Engaging the student in interactive activities allows the student and the teacher to continuously assess their progress.
