I teach in such a way that the student enjoys learning. I taught many students Maths in a school. It was a wonderful experience. I also worked as the IT coordinator in a summer program. I helped students with their common IT problems and troubleshooting. I learnt quite a lot and i would love to try something similar. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. This year I taught math at Community of Peace Charter school in St. Paul, MN. I taught 3 sections of 8th grade math to a very diverse student population. Approximately 25% of the students receive ESL services outside of the math class, therefore I learned the difficulties that these students have with math vocab and context situations. I dealt with the broad range of math skills by running a math workshop model during the classroom blocks. This was very successful and was well liked by the students. Education has to be interactive to be effective. I try to apply a Socratic approach when I work with students - to not provide answers but to draw out answers from the student by directed questioning. In the areas that I am competent in (physics into the undergraduate levels, and mathematics through the calculus level), I believe that understanding principles is what enables success.
