Experience Summary
As a Supervisor, and later as Safety Trainer, for the Phone Company, I was called on to present and educate employees of the Phone Company (QWEST) 1970 - 2001. Topics ranged from general safety to technical applications specific to jobs within the company.
After retirement from the Phone Company, I began teaching photography to Real Estate professionals, with a MN Department of Commerce approval (course #1003818). I've been a Professional Photographer since 2003.
As Founder and Director of a 501 c.3. non-profit organization in MN since 1998, I have written material and lectured to a variety of groups and organizations on the subject of Grief and Support, particularly regarding the death of children and the impact on their families.
Teaching Style
My style of teaching is dynamic, active and often visual. I demonstrate ideas and concepts either visually or by association, to bring a picture in the mind of the learner. I endeavor to simplify complicated ideas. I use demonstration, analogy and metaphor to invite the learners away from the fear of learning and into the realm of fun.
I believe all people, young and old, are inquisitive and eager to learn. I believe roadblocks to learning can be removed with patience, understanding and acceptance of the person trying to learn. I believe there is great potential in all people and I strive to help them find their place in the world.
I’m committed to bringing understanding and insight to each student I teach.
I have fun!
