Experience Summary
I designed and taught a first-ever prekindergarten program at St. Anne School in Somerset, WI. I also directed and taught children's programs with the YMCA for children age birth through prekindergarten, having received the YMCA Focus Award for Excellence in Children's Programs. I directed the marketing and campaign programs for a school, which allowed me to utilize my expertise in writing, finances, community relations, as well as written and verbal communication. I have been a substitute teacher for all grades, most recently for grades PK-8th grade, including extensive one-on-one work with special needs children (speech, second language, autism, ADD/ADHD, physical, etc.)
Teaching Style
I embrace a unique passion for teaching children, especially for working with students on a one-on-one basis. I thrive on connecting with each student as an individual, and enhancing their academic lives in ways they may not get in other environments. I strive to "find" every child's gift, and celebrate it. I observe the strengths and weaknesses of each student, and work with the teaching team and parents to determine steps in building on each identified success and/or challenge. My dream is to forever work with children in an effort to provide them knowledge, safety, consistency, and love.
