I graduated from Dayton Christian High School back in 2007. I am currently attending school at the University of Dayton seeking my bachelors degree for Sociology. I took a couple years from school after graduating high school to see what it is I wanted to do and I chose to attend The University of Dayton.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping children learn new things. I get so excited when I see the "light bulb" go off. I love to find different ways to teach children to learn old things. I am a very patient and happy person by nature. Consistency is what works with children. I am very consistent and like to see children succeed. I graduated from one of the top ranked schools in the nation for education, Miami University (Ohio). I earned my bachelor's degree there. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked as a music teacher for 10 years, and I spent one year working as a Title I paraprofessional. As a music teacher, my focus is on music literacy and appreciation. I strongly believe that every child has the right to a quality music education. As a Title I para, I worked with individual and small groups of K-6 students in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
A wonderful characteristic of music is that learning and experiencing music addresses all three main learning styles--visual, aural, and kinesthetic. I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn. I determine what that way is, and then I taylor the way I teach to that way. I love seeing a child light up when they "get it". I love learning and I want to pass that love on to others.
