A Little Bit About Me...

I am Stephen O Ojo, a Zoology graduate with 1st class hons from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. I graduated with a CGPA of 4.52/5.00. I had been a tutor in various respect for many years with so many of my stdents working in various spheres of life. I started as a Science teacher in JT Tutorial centre in Lagos, Nigeria in the year 1999 and worked for the centre till 2005 when I graduated from the college. I also had a 1yr teaching experience in the Zoology department of University of Jos, Plateau State Nigeria. After which I had since then continued my teaching carrer on a private level, doing personal tutorials for students on one-on-one basis to achieve a better result. I take science courses basically especially biology and maths. I love to work with high school students to mould there academic career when they get to college.

Having obtained a Communications degree from college, I was quite driven to help students who faced challenges in the areas of reading/writing. Further, I had extensive experience in Title I and Reading Labs, even on the college campus where I studied. Later, I earned my Master's degree and did research to assist me in understanding the pervasive issue of a higher incidence of language difficulties faced by these students versus that realized in Math. During the past years, I have taught high school and college English courses to students who have been identified as needing assistance in Reading and writing. I have also assisted students with other subjects, such as Algebra I, II, Problems of Democracy, high school science, etc.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I began teaching them in the first grade and have continued up to, and including, the present time. My son is now a high school freshman and my daughter is in the eighth grade. During this time I helped start a homeschool cooperative. We wanted to continue homeschooling our children, but we also wanted to provide them with more choices taught by someone experienced, or having an expertise in an area. The parents, myself included, taught a wide variety of classes. I have taught english, history, reading, poetry, Bible, math, science, spanish, cooking, and music.
