A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping children learn new things. I get so excited when I see the "light bulb" go off. I love to find different ways to teach children to learn old things. I am a very patient and happy person by nature. Consistency is what works with children. I am very consistent and like to see children succeed. Educators can change the world through one child at a time.
I graduated from one of the top ranked schools in the nation for education, Miami University (Ohio). I earned my bachelor's degree there. I have been teaching children that have learning disabilities for ten years. I also have worked with children that have severe emotional problems. I will be graduating from Grand Canyon University in December with my master's degree in special education. For the past few years I have been tutoring an eighth grader in grammar and poetry.

More About This Tutor...

As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I began teaching them in the first grade and have continued up to, and including, the present time. My son is now a high school freshman and my daughter is in the eighth grade. During this time I helped start a homeschool cooperative. We wanted to continue homeschooling our children, but we also wanted to provide them with more choices taught by someone experienced, or having an expertise in an area. The parents, myself included, taught a wide variety of classes. I have taught english, history, reading, poetry, Bible, math, science, spanish, cooking, and music.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and helping children realize their potential. Every child learns differently so it is important to determine which method works best for each child by providing material in a variety of ways. I am patient, enthusiastic and thoughtful. My goal is to ensure that each student is successful.
My education includes a teaching certificate in education and a B.S. in business with a major in marketing and a minor in management. In addition, I am currently taking courses through Baker College to obtain an M.B.A. where I have maintained a 4.0 G.P.A. throughout the last year.
