Throughout my scholastic career I have always been a focused and driven student. I have learned that the best way to teach is to let the student know how much you enjoy the subject and then work to make them feel the same way. I also know that you cannot predict what methods will be best for all people. I prepare extensivesly with sample tests, worksheets, as well as fun learning activities. When it comes to the tutoring session, I am not uptight about my style, I can sense when a method is or is not working and then use any or all of the methods that help the student retain the knowledge. I graduated from Purdue University in May of 2007 with a BS degree in Applied Physics. The Applied portion means I took an additional 10 courses on top of the normal physics load. This has given me an in-site on math, physics, chemistry, computer programming, astronomy, and a bit about electronics. I know how to be thorough in my work with a high attention to detail. I have tutored in math, physics, and chemistry in the past. I approach teaching as a challenge; as I know not every student learns the same way. I first start by finding a common ground; a level of knowledge if you will. Essentially I find what they know and where do they need help. As an engineer and manager, training employees was an integral component of work performed throughout my ten-year professional career. I created systems and procedures, followed by training and "tutoring" for successful implementation. I also worked for the university during my college years as a Chemistry coach.
