When I was in high school I had a lot of anxiety about math. I went back to college late in life and I was terrified that I would have to take a few math courses to graduate. It wasn't long before math was my favorite class and I changed my major. When I was in school I helped a lot of my classmates with calculus. After I graduated I got a job as a tutor working with high school students on preparation for college entrance exams and mathematics. I found that to be very rewarding.

I am a very patient and kind hearted person. I am able to relate to teenagers and can get through to children. I find that as long as I have the students respect, then progress can be made. I do not come in demanding their respect or attempting to force their respect. I come in a friendly manner and I will conduct the course in that same manner. Teaching at Longmont High for three years allowed me to develop many teaching skills and gather a variety of experiences and ideas.
