I began my career teaching for six years at a K-8 parochial school in Erie, PA, then taught for 3 years at an elite all boys prep school, also in Erie (Cathedral Preparatory School). We then relocated to Omaha, NE for my husband's job where I taught at the high school level for the last eight years. We recently moved to the Charlotte, NC area as my husband again advances his career.

I am a visual learner and work well with other visual learners. A Little Bit About Me...

While substitute teaching various subjects, I discovered my hidden talent – making math understandable for youth. My other gifts include excellent grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. I don’t have a teacher’s certificate, however, and am currently choosing not to substitute, but I miss the personal interaction with students who want to learn.
Giving a student the answer does not facilitate their learning. My style of tutoring and teaching is to reinforce the basics, ask leading questions and give examples that assist the student discover the correct answers for him or herself.
