My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I wish my high school Chemistry teacher taught me additional material. I can tutor students from what a mole is? to the periodic table, chemical reactions, etc.

I have 4 years of mathematics in the high school level and I have two years of math at the college level. I love teaching Algebra or Calculus. While substitute teaching various subjects, I discovered my hidden talent – making math understandable for youth. My other gifts include excellent grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. I don’t have a teacher’s certificate, however, and am currently choosing not to substitute, but I miss the personal interaction with students who want to learn.

In a tutoring situation there is usually the immediate need (to pass a test) and the long term need to be able to succeed on their own. I have learned a graet deal through speaking to high school athletes and their parents about the college recruiting process.
