A Little Bit About Me...

During the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Psychology I had the opportunity to work with the Maricopa College District, as well as the No Child Left Behind Program. While working with the Maricopa College District I assisted students that were enrolled in the ACE Adult Program. These students ranged in ages from 18 to 65 years old. Additionally, I worked with Martin Porres Educational Services and the No Child Left Behind Program. During my years of tutoring I have assisted students in Psychology, Statistics, math courses up to Calculus, basic science classes, reading, English, computer courses, and nursing courses (relating to mathematics).

Literally all my life I have been asked by students, parents and teachers to help students who were having trouble. I get tremendous fulfillment from watching someone who has been frustrated finally "get it." In addition to teaching music lessons, tutoring all subjects, and homeschooling my own two children, I have worked for the last 17 years with a private school. I feel very strongly about a differential approach to my teaching methods. I believe every child is different and learns differently then the next child. I feel confident in developing a lesson plan that can be diverse enough to meet each and every child’s gifts and disadvantages. It truly does take a village to raise a child as the saying goes. I have been able to make many positive differences in many childrens lives by tutoring, volulnteering and working with them. I am able to teach in a variety of ways, which as most people know, everyone learns differently. Some people are visual learners, meaning they learn better through the written word.
