I believe a solid foundation is the key th success.

I began working with pre-k age group as a lead teacher for the four year olds room. After leaving that placement I started working with high school aged students as a substitute. Working with these young adults reinforced my belief that if a student does not have the basic skills learned early in their education, it is very difficult to go back and relearn them. MAKING A DIFFERENCE, ONE STUDENT AT A TIME

My training was based on accepting the child where he/she was and to provide developmentally appropriate activities that were hands on and based on the needs and interests of the child. In a classroom, I would differentiate activities to engage all children whether they were visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners. In tutoring sessions I can easily personalize each lesson to the child's learning style and needs. I begin by assessing where the child is at, build on what they know, and create new challenges to move them to where they need to be. It is so rewarding to watch them grow into confident learners.
