It seems I have always been involved in education, whether through planning/implementing lesson plans, creating assessments or one-on-one work with a student. During the completion of my Bachelor's degree in Psychology I had the opportunity to work with the Maricopa College District, as well as the No Child Left Behind Program. While working with the Maricopa College District I assisted students that were enrolled in the ACE Adult Program. These students ranged in ages from 18 to 65 years old. Additionally, I worked with Martin Porres Educational Services and the No Child Left Behind Program. During my years of tutoring I have assisted students in Psychology, Statistics, math courses up to Calculus, basic science classes, reading, English, computer courses, and nursing courses (relating to mathematics).

In my college curriculum and internships, I experienced and observed a great deal about people and various styles of processing information. That is, every person has a rather unique way of learning. I would think the most important point to tap into, when tutoring someone, would be to discover how he/she best learns and on what levels. My strongest subject is English and grammatical skills. A Little Bit About Me...

When I begin tutoring a new student, my first objective is for us to get to know each other. The student will not be able to receive very much from me until he/she is comfortable with me. Once they feel that I care, they open up and the learning really begins! When I really get a feel for the personality and whatever particular challenges are unique for this person in this class, I am able to determine the best way to communicate the subject and improve the skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I have attended CFCC and FCCJ. I am currently attending Liberty University for my Bachelor in Education. I have been teaching for about 7 years and through that time I have learned an extensive amount not only through in-services and training classes, but through my colleagues. I feel very confident in my ability to reach children that feel that they just can't get it. I have two children of my own, which I homeschooled for a year. My daughter, who is 13 years old, has Dyslexia and short term memory processing issues. I have learned so much just by teaching and tutoring her. I have taught K-3 thru 8th grade.
