I am passionate about tutoring. I have been tutoring formally and informally since I started college. I have done group and one-on-one tutoring for college students, international students, and high school students in chemistry, math, English, biology, and other subjects. I have taught high school Oceanography, Chemistry, and Biology. I have also taught Junior High technology. Upon my graduation from high school, my calculus teacher, who had noticed my natural aptitude for mathematics and my ability to help other students to understand it, referred some younger students who had been struggling to me for tutoring. Due to my success with this first student, or rather, the student’s new found success in his math courses, my former teacher referred another student to me the following summer. In subsequent years, while I was pursuing my education, many friends and fellow students, asked me to tutor them in various topics ranging from college algebra, to statistics, to calculus. After earning a bachelor's degreee in Psychology and receiving my Elementary Education certification at Gonzaga University in 2007, I worked at Mario Umana Middle School Academy teaching environmental education in Boston. I currently work as a teacher's assistant in a Supported Learning Center program for students with Asperger’s Syndrome. I work one-on-one with high school students in the program, assisting them with work in math, science, English and social studies. Additionally, when I was in high school, I worked as a math tutor for algebra students.
