My comments on tutoring Piano : I can teach/play in all styles, and greatly prefer working with youth ages 13 and above. I can teach beginning and intermediate students. I have an easy-going style, and work best with self-motivated students.

I have over 25 years of experience in the music field, and have worked as a professional pianist in churches, theaters, schools, and colleges. I accompany choirs, private vocalists, voice classes, juries, recitals, and musical theater productions. I work very well with older youth/teens, and adults who are self-motivated, and have a strong interest in learning.
Flexible. I am trained classically and appreciate the need for the learning of that technique, but am more than willing to accommodate the student's varied musical interests and tastes.

I am an experienced, caring tutor.

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring. I have tutored elementary to college students and even taught basic reading through Sylvan's Ace-It tutoring. I have extensive experience working one-on-one and also in groups. I was a Supplemental Instruction Leader all through my college years which allowed me to work with groups and instructors, creating sample tests and quizzes, and helping individuals with different learning styles. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy the challenge of teaching music to children and adults of all experience levels. As a teacher, I find that I constantly have to adapt my teaching style to accommodate different student’s needs. Musically, I encourage the student to go in whatever direction they like, but fundamentally I have strict guidelines that I motivate all my students to meet. For example, I support a student’s decision to learn to improvise a blues song, or play a melody from a symphony equally. I am well versed in all styles of music and feel I can provide them the necessary materials to explore and develop their preferred genre.
