I fundamentally believe anyone can learn. If a student isn’t grasping a concept, it just means I have to change my style of teaching. Once you know how you retain information you can do anything. How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. My teaching style is straightforward - proceed from the simple to the complex. It appears most subjects require this approach. I find it both helpful and important to try and relate situations encountered in day-to-day life to the specific subject problems. I earned a BS in Aeronautics and have completed some graduate work in aerodynamics and meteorology. In addition to having given approximately 3000 hours of instruction in aviation subjects, I have authored several textbooks on aircraft design and construction. I find working with children rewarding. I am patent and understanding and cater to individual learning styles. I use my artistic sense to help students visually understand learning. I like to discover what my students already know about the topic and to expose any misconceptions. Brainstorming activities work well for me.
