Experience Summary
I graduated with honors from a formal university, where I tutored fellow classmates; however, I gained most of my tutoring and teaching experience overseas, in a universal classroom. I have taught youth and adults in Mexico, Spain, Chad, Benin, Morocco and other countries. In most of those cases I was teaching English, but I also taught key aspects of health, sustainable development, lifelong skills and leadership. I taught classes ranging in size between 5 and 100.
I am an accomplished writer and enjoy tutoring in English composition, literature and grammar, as well as foreign language. I believe strongly in education and deem that it is a catalyst for growth, change and success, whether for an individual or a nation.
Teaching Style
Because I have had to meet the needs of so many different students in so many different environments, I am flexible with teaching methods. A lack of resources overseas drove me to be creative and exercise methods of experiential learning: hands-on and engaged learning.
I believe in creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, with some room for fun. I acknowledge that every student possesses a different learning style and I strive to compliment that, especially while tutoring. I maintain high expectations and expect considerable progress.
My hope is that armed with an education, youth will be incorporated into more decision making around the world.
