My teaching philosophy and style is founded upon the belief that all children are brilliant and can succeed. My approach to teaching is highly individualized and targeted to meet a student's specific needs. If your child is struggling, I believe in figuring out the root of the problem, boredom, trouble reading or note-taking, learning style, and then finding strategies that address that difficulty directly. Learning needs to have importance to a student. They need to understand why they need to learn the things they are being taught. Then it makes more sense to them. If possible, teach to their strengths. If they like computers, find a website that gives them practice. If they are better writers than listeners, have them dictate and read it back to you.
