Experience Summary
My experience with children and education are linked through my travels. I worked in a day care in Asheville North Carolina. I also volunteered at a mosque when I lived in London. I visited many schools when I went to Morocco. I am a student at Florida State University, working for a double-major in Creative Writing and Middle Eastern Studies. I have taken many English technique classes such as; poetry, essay, and fiction. I have extensive skills in grammar and English structure. My goal is to teach English abroad. I believe that education is the best tool you can give a child.
Teaching Style
I believe that to engage and educate children requires a personal, hands-on, and creative teaching style. I recognize that everyone learns differently. However, I believe that a child can learn anything if he/she sees the connection between the information and their daily life. I am patient and open-minded. I don't mind working hard for results. The best way to cover information is by showing all sides of it. I believe in developing trust within the teacher-student relationship. I try to make the learning environment as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
