My old next door neighbors have two children. One is a boy in elementary and one is a girl in middle school. I tutored the boy in reading and writing. He was able to read his first book on his own after a few weeks with me. I had to tutor the girl in math. she was taking algebra and was having a tough time with it. In two weeks of many meetings, she was able to pass her final exam. No matter what grade I was in, I always enjoyed going down to the ESE room and helping the special kids. I am a Senior in the College of Education at FGCU. In the Spring of 2009 I was a reading tutor in Kindergarten for two students in an ESOL class. During this time I was assigned to help these students learn their sight words and practice their reading skills. Currently, I am in my non-final internship in a Kindergarten class.
