Experience Summary
As a Nurse Manager of an ICU, I was tapped to teach IV Therapy and heart rhythm monitoring classes. That developed into a FT position as a Nursing Inservice Coordinator, then later as a Director of a hospital wide education department, either teaching classes myself(such as in CPR)or coordinating others to teach. My years as a consultant I either taught seminars having to do with quaility improvement or worked with smaller groups and on-in-one in business/hospital facilities. As a Personal Coordinator, most recently, I taught new employees timekeeping, payroll procedures and specific computer access steps.I think my stronger suit might be in reading and science, but I think that I could manage elementary level math.
Teaching Style
I like more interactive methods, as that is the basically what I did the majority of the time. I don't enjoy seminars with large groups as much. I try to be very patient and articulate and if one avenue of explanation is not working I will try another. I am an encourager - you can do it! I have 4 elementary age school grandchilden, two of whom are home schooled and like to help them discover new things.
