Experience Summary
My level of experience in the education world has gone onto the Masters Level and I am currently pursuing my double master’s degree in Psychology. While in college, I served as a tutor in the Psychology Department for freshman who needed additional help in their studies. During my master’s study, I worked for an agency that placed Foster Children in Foster Homes. It was my job to ensure that I effectively and accurately taught parenting classes to the potential foster parents. My strong areas are in English, Science, and Psychology as well as Reading. I have also worked in an academic environment for the last year, and had the opportunity to tutor college freshman at Southwest Florida College during my time with the college.
Teaching Style
Teaching has become something that I discovered a great passion for while I was educating parents in a Parenting Class for Foster Parents. Each student is different and therefore our goal as educators is to adapt and shift according to the needs of the student. I believe that all are capable of learning with the right instruction. Students must dictate the type of learning they feel most comfortable with and as the tutor, I must adjust. Children are visual, investigative, imaginary, detail oriented, readers, hands-on, and as the tutor, you must be prepared for anything. I feel I am capable of reaching and helping any child once I determine the best way to help them.
