I graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math & Science. As a student I worked in the classroom for 3 semesters doing various jobs. I have tutored students in Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies. I have currently been working for Macon County Schools, substitute teaching and tutoring for the end of grade tests. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent 8 months working at a wilderness therapy program. At this school I taught students life skills in a wilderness setting. After leaving this school, I spent the summer teaching art at a small summer camp. This past year I worked at a boarding school, located in Western North Carolina. At this school I worked with 15 and 16 year olds, tutoring and helping them with their school work and teaching week-end and extracurricular activities. I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders.
