I am Deaf. Americans Sign Language is my primary language since age 2. I studied linguistics of ASL/Deaf history/Deaf Culture at Western Oregon University and Deaf Education at McDaniel College. I value ASL. I am currently learning PTASL (a communication mode within DeafBlind community). My goal is to give back to Deaf/Hard of Hearing/DeafBlind communities including children. During my studies at USU I worked at Adams Elementary both as a Teachers Aid as well as a Mentor during the After School Program. I worked one-on-one as well as in groups of students grade k-5. As I have gone through my classes at Clover Park Technical College to become a para educator and I have work with the middle school kids at my job I have come to realize that I really enjoy working and helping the kids understand how to do new activity as well as help them out with their school work I really enjoy being around teenagers as well as younger age groups my goal is to become a para educator as well as a recreation coordinator in a middle school. I have work with special education student, as well as advance placement student. I have only noticed one difference with each group and that is the pace that the classroom goes in.
