Experience Summary
I chose to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, so I could study many different fields, rather than focus on only one. I was thrilled with reading and literature courses; history; fine arts; sociology and humanities. I have always had a love of reading and I was happy to share the joy of reading when I volunteered my time to help struggling and early readers in elementary school. In addition, I have developed and taught art classes for adults; as well as Sunday School classes for children.
Teaching Style
I believe everyone learns best when the subject matter is interesting and engaging to that student. I have always tried to adapt my curriculum to the interests of my students. For example, I found many little boys felt they hated reading, but with the right books, could actually enjoy the experience. Learning should be fun! Progress of any sort should be rewarded. Children’s opinions deserve to become part of the teaching equation. Together, you, your child and I will find the best possible way to help them learn.
