My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I provide students freedom writing to inspire them to develop their own creative written expression. I also provide sample of creative writing, pictures, internet research activity.

I started teaching right after my college graduation from Philippine Normal University. I taught ESL (English as A Second Language in public schools from 1968 - 1985. From 1985 - 1991 I taught at the United States Refugee Program. On October 1991 I was sent by the US Refugee Program to University of Omaha, Nebraska as a guest lecturer on ESL. Your Child's Best Interest.

I have student taught since my senior year in high school as a credit. I have tutored family members and coworkers. I am currently a third year student at Glendale Community College (GCC) and my major is Secondary Education in English. I student taught Senior English last semester and this experience has proved that this is the place that I want to be. I plan on going to ASU in the Fall of 2019 to continue my education.
I want your child to be able to feel comfortable to ask questions. A lot of students are scared to look "less than" in front of their peers if they ask questions. English and Literature are subjects meant to be questioned and not just read. I believe that your child has every capability to learn and my job is to help them turn on the light bulb to help them see that reading and writing aren't as hard as they seem to be.

My teaching style is quite organized, but also empathetic. I allow for students to use their various aptitudes and abilities to learn. For example, when a student normally presents a report to the class, that student reads from his notes. I had one student who was musically inclined and played her guitar to make her presentation. She used her musical skills quite effectively.
I am currently certified in the state of Arizona in the following subjects: English, Latin and general sciences. I teach two courses of Latin at Glendale Community College, Glendale, Arizona. I like to teach in any style if its one on one or group tutoring lesson. Either way I can help the student and help them individually with their work and have them work on what they need help on. There is also tutoring groups where the students can learn off of each other as well as with the help of the tutor. In this case more subjects can be approached and answer all the questions the students ask that can help other students as well.
While studying abroad in Spain this last spring I volunteered as an English tutor at a local elementary/high school. I helped the students learn to read, write and speak English and while I was there I got the opportunity to teach some lessons to students ranging form 4-18 years of age. I have also tutor two young girls from my neighborhood in elementary math, reading and writing last summer.
