My comments on tutoring Composition : Composition writing emphasizes that great writing is not achieved in a single moment or activity, but through a process of activities involving multiple writing sessions and student reflection. The process, as well as what is composed, is important. Students learn from feedback they receive on their work at different points in the writing process and learn to make improvements on their own.

I believe that each student learns differently, and that we need to target those learning styles and use them in ways that can help one another.
I have been teaching for over ten years. It is not just a job, it is my passion. I love going into my classroom everyday and learning with my students. Composition is one of my top subjects! In teaching composition writing students need to understand and demonstrate learned concept on different areas of written expression such as: Informative, Persuasive, Narrative, Creative, or Personal composition. Elements of ideal composition writing should be reflected on student's written expression work such as: 1. Conventions which include: Grammar, spelling, punctuations, and capitalization. 2. Composition format which includes: indentation, beginning statement, body of text using sensory details (sight, hearing, smell, and feeling) and key details, and concluding or ending statement. 3. A composition should focus on topic of discussion and should not include unrelated facts or opinions. Students are able to learn written expression skills by implementing effective teaching strategies such as: 1. Modeling how to write a specific composition 2. Providing helpful word list 3. Your Child's Best Interest.

I want your child to be able to feel comfortable to ask questions. A lot of students are scared to look "less than" in front of their peers if they ask questions. English and Literature are subjects meant to be questioned and not just read. I believe that your child has every capability to learn and my job is to help them turn on the light bulb to help them see that reading and writing aren't as hard as they seem to be.
I have student taught since my senior year in high school as a credit. I have tutored family members and coworkers. I am currently a third year student at Glendale Community College (GCC) and my major is Secondary Education in English. I student taught Senior English last semester and this experience has proved that this is the place that I want to be. I plan on going to ASU in the Fall of 2019 to continue my education.

My teaching style is quite organized, but also empathetic. I allow for students to use their various aptitudes and abilities to learn. For example, when a student normally presents a report to the class, that student reads from his notes. I had one student who was musically inclined and played her guitar to make her presentation. She used her musical skills quite effectively.

I enjoyed all four years of my teaching. I taught fourth, fifth and Physical Education. Prior to that I substituted for two years as well.
