Love to Teach

I began teaching Art to middle school students within the public school system in 1989. I began working with elementary grades in 1991. I began to pursue a master's degree in Education in 2007 through the University of Phoenix (UoP). The online experience and consistent communication with my instructors and classmates were invaluable. I have been able to perfect my writing, computer proficiency, and research skills through the various assignments required in the UoP teacher education program.

I have always valued education. I can remember comparing grades and discussing what we learned in class as early as 2nd grade. Very often the students would be spread out over three grade levels. Because of this, I am extremely good at tailoring my instruction to different levels and learning types. I believe ever child has his or her own level of learning. That level can be intrapersonal, interpersonal, visual,etc. Every child must be worked with and not looked over. Not every child learns at the same pace. I am a believer in giving every child a chance. We as educators must find out what level of learning the child is on in order to assist the child's learning needs. If we fail to assess those needs, we have failed the child.
