Love to Teach

I have always believed in "connecting the dots." Knowledge and learning cannot be strictly confined to subject-area teaching. For example, many academic subjects can be studied while one writes, makes art, to creates stories, practices problem solving, or invents solutions to problems we are facing in this modern age. Listening to students and providing opportunities for them to demonstrate knowledge is very important. I never want learning to bore a student. I believe ever child has his or her own level of learning. That level can be intrapersonal, interpersonal, visual,etc. Every child must be worked with and not looked over. Not every child learns at the same pace. I am a believer in giving every child a chance. A Little Bit About Me...

I liken tutoring sessions to the repair of a crumbling pyramid. I believe that every student is capable of learning and understanding the material that is presented to them in class, but that due to some reason, he or she does not understand some of the basic concepts that later material adds onto. Hence, the base of their pyramid is unstable. Usually in the first tutoring session, I try to gauge where the student is supposed to be in the material while at the same time trying to figure out where the missing foundation stones are. Once key concepts are explained, I then give students some examples to bolster their confidence and to be sure that they have learned the material.
