I earned my B.A. in English from Oglethorpe University in May 2007, and am currently completing my Master's thesis in English from Villanova University. In addition, I have served as a writing tutor at both schools over the past four years, working with students one-on-one to improve their writing skills. Because of my B.A. in English, I consider myself to be quite experienced in composition. The only reason I would not call myself an expert is because it seems school systems frequently change the types of essays they require students to write, and it is difficult to keep up. For example, it is my underdanding that the "five paragraph essay" is no longer used to assess student writing at the high school level.
