In a word, my teaching style is Socratic. Often that means I respond to a student’s question with a question that enables them to figure out answers for themselves. Other times, my questions are designed to stimulate ideas beyond the student’s view so they need to “stretch” a bit. I firmly believe this style encourages the student’s creativity and belief in their own capabilities. Coupled to the formal teaching and certainly as important is the relationship between the teacher and students that generates growth.
