My comments on tutoring Algebra I : Retired secondary classroom teacher after 32 years in public education. I taught Algebra I for 10 years. Currently teaching at several SAT/ACT College Prep Businesses in Plano, Frisco, Argyle,and Denton.

I am convinced that for students to succeed in their education and in life they must have a firm foundation in reading and writing. I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn. In middle school, High School and College, other students came to me for help with assignments. Knowing what it is like to be a student, I try to see from the students point of view. Each student teaches me their own way to learn. I enjoy learning and hope that I can share that joy with others.
My degree in Engineering has given me plenty of experience in math and science. I have also had graduate courses in Physics and Engineering. As a graduate student at UNT, I instructed several physics and astronomy labs and learned first hand what teaching can be like. I am an upbeat, organized, an intelligent tutor who loves to teach and does so best through participation. For almost twenty years, I’ve worked with students as a K-12 as a tutor, coordinator, counselor, and advocate in a variety of educational environments. I am committed to the belief that achieving a good education is the most viable way for students to become productive citizens. In 2006, I returned to college to obtain my bachelor’s degree and by flexing my classes scheduling, earned 83 hours in 6 consecutive semesters and graduated Magna cum laude from Eastern Illinois University in the December 2007.
