My degrees have taken me places that I never thought they would. I was excited to teach English in a school in Costa Rica for one year. There I was able to learn Spanish quickly as well as help elementary school children learn English. I taught grammar as well as science. I also tutored on the side in all subjects. Previous to this experience I tutored a fourth grader in geography, history, and spelling. In college I used many skills that helped me to prepare for teaching. A short list of these skills is math, creative writing, computer skills, memorization, and art work. All throughout my educational career I have learned best through observation. I typically like to solve one problem for the student, allow them to observe, and then work through another problem with them. As a recent CSU-Pueblo graduate with a mathematics major and a double minor in both physics and economics, I feel I have plenty of education for this position.
