Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically interact with the materials, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as possible to aid their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts, I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. I follow the "EDGE" method for teaching: Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable. I will explain the material, demonstrate it with an example, guide the student through working through a problem, and then enable the student to work independently while still being available for questions. I also try to connect what the student is learning to real-life applications, especially ones that resonate with the student's interests. I am a rising senior attending Villanova University, majoring in Biology. I am a pre-medical student who has recently taken the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). I can tutor for a multitude of science subjects such as Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics, all of which I have recieved nothing less than an A.
Personally, I think students benefit the most from tutoring by conversing with their tutor/teachers.
